Interpeace’s Peace Responsiveness Online Training is a course that blends self-paced learning with virtual trainer sessions. It’s the first of its kind to focus on articulating peace contributions by humanitarian, development and multi-mandate actors, and to apply a whole-of-organization and a whole-of-system approach to sustaining peace.
The course equips humanitarian, development and peacebuilding professionals with substantive knowledge and skills to maximise the peace contributions of technical initiatives, e.g. food security, WASH or health initiatives, in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. The course also covers the types of personal agency and organizational environment that are required to overcome barriers and to catalyse change towards peace-responsive approaches in international assistance. In doing so, the course seeks to support the operationalisation of the UN Sustaining Peace Agenda and the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus.
Organized in cohorts, participants go through training modules at their own pace, within a defined timeframe of two months. During this period, participants e-meet thrice with the training facilitators and their peers to be able to exchange and ask questions. A fictional case study developed specifically for the training, different types of assessments and a learning journal ensure an interactive and practical learning experience.
After taking the course, participants will have more tools at hand to:
